Plot Summary
Rize is an intimate completely fresh portrayal of inner-city youth who have created art--and often family--where before there was none. Surrounded by drug addiction, gangs and impoverishment, they have developed a completely unique style of dance that evolves on a daily basis. Through tremendous spirit and creativity, they manage to rise above.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: LaChapelle reveals the captivating qualities of gritty street dancing, and his film is a touching story of hope, vitality and art rising from the bleakest conditions.
Fresh: While the dance scenes are intoxicating, on-camera interviews with the participants are sobering.
Fresh: It's a feel-good film that actually makes you feel good.
Rotten: It's a well-known truth in the dance world that the body doesn't lie. As long as the characters in this film are dancing, we have little reason to doubt their sincerity. But once turned into talking heads, the dancers begin to sound like propagandists.

BEST DANCING MOVIE!!!
If you want to see a great dancing movie, then you have GOT to see this! This is the real dancing, without all of that choreography. They do this from the soul and that is what makes this so great!
If u appreicate dance at all u will love this
A true and inspiering story of young dancers and how their art affects their lives. If you like dance, not matter if you can do it well or do it at all, you will love this movie. Clown dancing, stripper dancing, or Krupm its all amazing to watch.
