Plot Summary

Patrick Swayze stars in this sexy thriller from the producer of Die Hard and the Matrix. Co-starring Ben Gazzara (The Thomas Crown Affair), Kelly Lynch (Charlie's Angels) and Sam Elliott (We Were Soldiers), Road House delivers no-holds-barred action that pushes the envelope for high-octane thrills! Swayze is Dalton, a legendary bouncer who comes to Jasper, Missouri, for a special purpose: to restore order at the notorious Double Deuce Bar. In one spectacular fight after another, Dalton rids the bar of thugs and henchmen. But when he runs afoul of a ruthless crime boss (Gazzara) who controls the town, the stage is set for a blistering showdown that'll leave only one man standing!

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Road House is much funnier than most comedies, until it turns vile instead of just stupid. – Caryn James, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Rotten: The grotesque soon drowns out the giggles. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Jan 8, 2008

Rotten: Its vigilante justice, lawlessness and wanton violence feel ludicrous in a modern setting. – Variety Staff, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: An immensely enjoyable slice of romanticised fisticuffs, this is a Western in every respect except the stetsons and six guns. – Tom Tunney, Empire Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

GOOD

oh shut up all of you this was the best movie ever

American CLASSIC, Top 10, It's a FEEL Thing...

Anyone who lived in the 80's, can relate with a piece of this movie- Its NOT supposed to be judged on perfect production or "How real it is.." it is a movie, with a story- several woven together beautifully with action, fighting, love, and good vs. evil… Many folks are not used to getting all those in one movie today- its either 1 or 2 of these factors- if you're lucky. I can say, that the Love Scene between Patrick Swayze and Kelly Lynch in the Old Man's Barn has got to be one of the Top 10 Love scenes- in movie history. If you don't agree, or write for Rotten Tomatoes- You are either Too Young, Too Old, or Blind… Watch from beginning to End...

Action+Music=5 Stars

Great action movie, if you like bare knuckle fightin" and an awesome soundtrack with a lot of blues rocker Jeff Healey's music. A rockin' smack-down if you will. Wide-srceen is beautiful.
