Plot Summary

Unknown to Robocop, the evil corporate empire which created him wants to take the city 'private,' and develop Robocop 2, a newer, bigger, and more powerful version to replace the original. The first sequel pits Robocop against a gang of drug dealers and the title creature -- a supposedly improved version of himself that has gone berserk.

Rotten: This ultraviolent, nihilistic sequel has enough technical dazzle to impress hardware fans, but obviously no one in the Orion front office told filmmakers that less is more. – Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: With its desensitizing blood lust, RoboCop 2 contributes yet another ugly note to this already demoralizing season of sadism. – Hal Hinson, Washington Post, Mar 7, 2001

Review of Robocop 2

Robocop 2 is not quite as good as the original, but hen again how could it? Anyway, the film is pretty watchable. The middle of the film tends to lag, but the first fifteen minutes and the last half hour definitely make up for the middle. And let's not forget about the music that runs over the end credits, which is pretty good. However, given that the director is Irvin Kershner, who gave us The Empire Strikes Back, I was somewhat disappointed by the lack of greatness that is on display, still it's definitely worth checking out at least once, especially for the end fight between Robocop and Robocop 2, which is pure awesome.

Another sequel...

Although it lags on the development of the characters, and the plot is not strongly carried out. The movie is still decent enough to carry on the mantle of the cybernetic hero... besides he's only human (or half for that matter).

Look Below.

If you are a fan of bloody violence that is meant to be funny, little boys with baseball bats cracking open skulls of shop owners, a 10-or-so-year-old with a machine gun and no pity for killing hundreds of people (and as far as I remember, taking drugs through his neck), a ruined economy, a guy's brain and eyeballs graphically being removed and later smashed (which is also graphic), tons of blood, more blood, a guy's chest getting cut open (and you see everything), then get this movie. I'd call it a Scary Movie 4 with a lot more violence. Seriously, this movie is so violent, it stops being funny after a while and instead becomes plain disgusting. Also, after watching it, you'll hate the guts of that 10-year-old kid who keeps killing everybody. Trust me, you will. I can't decide if this movie is action, adventure, or comedy... if it's comedy then it's the darkest of dark humor. Overall, something of a stupid movie, but if you like Saw just because of the violence, then get it.
