Plot Summary
Suzanne Pleshette ("The Bob Newhart Show") stars as a young American girl who goes to Italy to learn about love, finds a handsome Italian attracted to her, and realizes that she's attracted to an architectural student who is having an affair with an heiress. Starring '60s screen heartthrob Troy Donahue, Angie Dickinson ("Dressed to Kill," "Police Woman") and Chad Everett ("Medical Center").

Rome Adventure
This is a very beautiful, scenic movie. There are lovely scenes of all the best places you wish you could visit in Italy. The story is a good and moral one. It wouldn't offend your children and it would offer a bit of knowledge that Americans don't learn in school. The music is lovely and the romance is warm and sincere. Suzanne Pleshette is excellent in her part, as is Troy Donahue. I first rented this movie and loved it so much I decided to buy it. This is so much nicer than the trash Hollywood puts out nowadays.
Rome Adventure
This classic never received the credit it deserved!! I remember this movie in high school. Before turning comic Suzanne Pleshette was considered very hot as was Angie Dickinson and Troy Donahue. Beautiful scenery of Italy and Swiss Alps and fountains of Rome. To me the music is what made this movie. The theme song is "Aldila " sung in Italian and instrumentally done while traveling with beautiful landscapes of timeless Europe. The great Al Hirt also played in the film and had both speaking parts and musical performance. I think it may have been his last motion picture before his passing. With all the remakes of old movies done today I'm rather baffled why this one hasn't been updated. One of my top five all-time favs.

I tried for along time to find this movie. My son after researching the Internet was able to locate a copy of it. He bought it for me but unfortunately it was not well made. It actually look like it was filmed with a video camera. I enjoyed watching it even tho it was poorly copied. And now I have located it on iTunes classic section. The song "Aldila" was my wife's and I's favorite love song when we were young. She's in Heaven now but this movie and the song "Aldila" brings back beautiful memories of the dream of my life and the great love we had together for 36 years. They don't make romantic movies like this anymore. If they made a remake of it, Hollywood would just mess it up anyway. I'm afraid young couples today don't really know what real romance is like this movie portrayed. It's in the romancing of Troy toward Suzanne that one of the greatest love ever written comes in to play. From then on it's their song. I also really appreciate them not being ashamed to mention God in the movie. Overall I give it four stars.
