Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Read no more if you want to grow up to be an astronaut; here are 40 minutes of nonstop robots, spaceships and bright-eyed NASA geeks enthusing about tangles of circuitry and nifty hydraulics. – Nathan Lee, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: Only a series of pics featuring a set of strange little nodes that look like blueberries planted in a pile of red rocks carry any kind of translatable otherworldly kick. – Gregory Kirschling, Entertainment Weekly, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: The movie is more compelling than exciting with one exception: the kind of rocket blast-off sequence for which IMAX screens were seemingly invented. – Mike Clark, USA Today, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Not having a way to capture images of the machines at work means that too much of Butler's film ... is disappointingly made up of computer simulations. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Sep 20, 2007

So much to learn, so little time

I find this movie to be great and definatly worth the $12. But if you want it in higher quality then get the DVD or Bluray you will not be disappointed. I personally have the iTunes and DVD version of this movie. This is great for people curious about other planets and life.

Keep on Rolling!

At first I was a little hesitant to get this but after reading the worthwhile reviews I figued why not. I am glad I did, the rovers are fantastic works of technology that not only exceed expectations in terms of their life span and impressive technology but the fact we think of them as little people. They were only supposed to last one year maybe two, now they are going on four years and counting. The pictures and knowledge they have brought was worth it. I highly recommend this documentary. I was very impressed and it ept my attention. My only minor con would be that it could be a little longer. And pay no attention to the lame reveiw by that lame person.

Excellent.

I saw this movie on my grade's trip to Space Camp. The movie was terrific. We saw it in IMAX and it made all the difference. If you're sick of watching the Discovery Channel, and want to have all the answers, THEN WATCH THIS MOVIE!
