This is your warning.......
It is not anything like Donnie Darko. This is some silly moody teen "we're deep" garbage. Please, I'm doing you a favor...... if you liked Donnie Darko and thought "how bad could it be?" Well it's bad. Not worth your time. Seriously, just go watch Donnie Darko again (not matter how many times you've seen it you'll enjoy it 100X more than watching this movie). This is like a bad teen soap opera, no wait......it is a bad teen soap opera.
"We're so perfect." "Emaculate."
And thats about all the dialogue i remember from this movie which isnt a good thing. This "sequel" failed to satisfy me as a fan of Donnie Darko. It was so caught up trying so hard just to be a movie that in the end, it fell flat. Nothing good about this one. No memorable moments like the family dinner in Donnie Darko. No Jim Cunningham. No Drew Barrymore. A few references to the first, but thats about it. Daveigh Chase doesn't make a very good leading character either.
If time travel were possible, someone would have destroyed this movie already.....
This movie is NOTHING like Donnie Darko.....except some new writer who seemingly saw the first movie once when he was half asleep took all of the characters and they used similar special effects. Completely lacking all of the nuance that made the first movie wonderful......
