Plot Summary
Three-time Oscar®-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone brings to life this ferocious, Unrated Edition. In a glittering California beach town, two best friends’ innovative marijuana business has come to the attention of the ruthless Mexican Baja Cartel. As a seemingly unwinnable war unfolds around them, they’re forced to take part in a savage battle of wills to save the girl they both love. Starring Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta, Benicio del Toro and Salma Hayek, Savages is “a stylish, violent, hallucinatory thriller.” (Ty Burr, Boston Globe)

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Stone devotes considerable ingenuity to making atrocity appear as a terrifying kind of home movie, but "Savages" is no more than a summertime debauch.
Rotten: These are neither good people nor interesting savages, and they're not worth caring about. Neither is the movie.
Fresh: An unabashedly lurid sun-and-surf menage-a-trois cum drug-running caper, with touches of Jacobean tragedy for good measure.
Fresh: Veers way off course in its second act, becoming confusing and vague - indeed, stoned. But it all comes good in the end.
Customer Reviews
it's good
I thought the film was great. The story line was intense and the acting was totally solid. It kept me on my seat and I've watched the film a few times now. Two thumbs up! Blake Lively is a mega babe.
Bad acting

Great
You know what I like about this movie? Despite all the rude reviews suggesting it is a terrible attempt at Pulp Fiction or another movie, I think it tries to be nothing but itself. Personallly, I have yet to see a movie that questioned the drug violence caused by the cartel in such a well written, emotional way. I think the acting is great and the plot is fantastic, and I haven't seen a ny movies this modern on this issue. It's great, it's difficult to watch, and I think this movie really says something. 5 stars Mr. Stone!
