Academy Award(r) nominee Johnny Depp (2003 Best Actor, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) gives his most riveting performance in this action/suspense thriller featuring a top-notchcast including John Turturro, Maria Bello, Academy Award(r) winner Timothy Hutton (1981 Best Supporting Actor, Ordinary People) and Charles S. Dutton. Following a bitter separation from his wife (Bello), famed mystery writer Mort Rainey (Depp) is unexpectedly confronted at his remote lake house by adangerous stranger named John Shooter (Turturro). Claiming Rainey has plagiarized his short story, the psychotic Shooter demands justice. When Shooter's demands turn to threats - and then murder - Rainey turns to a private detective (Dutton) for help. But when nothing stops the horror from spiraling out of control, Rainey soon discovers he can't trust anyone or anything. A shocking psychological thriller from the writer of Panic Room, David Koepp.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: The story is so basic that it makes a fine template for an exercise in style, and Koepp layers on the details with great relish. – Stephanie Zacharek, Salon.com, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Adapted from a Stephen King novella, the film lurches tiredly through the author's favorite masochistic-narcissistic fantasy, subjecting a woebegone writer to a gauntlet of abuse. – Dennis Lim, Village Voice, Mar 17, 2004

Fresh: An eerie, playful thriller and an all-around entertaining time at the movies. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Apr 9, 2004

Rotten: Mr. Depp demonstrates once again that he never disappoints as an actor, even in something as fraudulent as Secret Window. – Andrew Sarris, New York Observer, Jun 24, 2010

Good movie

I can honestly say this was a good movie it had lots of suspense and room to keep u wondering

Johnny Depp

He is a great actor and his movies are great. This movie kept me on my toes! I thought I knew what was going to happen at the ending, but I was so totally WRONG! You like suspense? Get it. Simple as that.
