Plot Summary

Over 500 years ago, the great Aztec empire ruled all of Mexico City and beyond. Could it be possible that the descendants of the Aztecs are still alive today and continuing their ancient traditions? What if their story could be told through one of their last great medicine men? Through a series of extraordinary circumstances, Tachi - a 21-year-old member of the Revolutionary Zapatista Collective looking for his roots - and Ehe - a 52nd Generation medicine man - meet, and embark on a journey that will change both their lives.

...really bad

I normally LOVE Documentaries on Aztecs, Mayans, Incas, etc... but this one wasn't watchable for me. I couldn't make it through...

All it is is a bunch of Interviews... tied into an absolutely HORRIBLE fictitious story. Horrible effects, horrible acting, horrible fictitious storyline... Wow. Waste of money. I hope they never make another film again.

Exploitative, New-Age Mess

This movie exploits indigenous people and their cultures to create a mixed up, mishmash of new-age garbage.

The main character is narrated through a series of idiotic interviews with people who most likely did even not know what sort of movie they were participating in. The main character, a Mexican young man of indigenous heritage, did not even get to speak in his own voice.

The academics who participated should be very embarrassed to be part of this terrible project that turns indigenous cultures into silly, sensationalized superstition, and the legitimate right of Mexican indigenous people to be seen, heard, and known, into a dumb Hollywood fantasy. (Even if this is an Indie.)

The people who made this have seen way too many really bad reality shows.

AWFUL and worse, exploitative.

Extraordinary! This is a sitting meditation that bends your mind!

Everytime I watch this film I feel like I am in a differnet world. I have read all the Carlos Casteneda books and this film for me is like a living representation of the teachings of Don Juan. I have never seen anything like this. It is edgy, well made, dramatic, educational and contemplative all at the same time. WHat a great honor to watch this.
