Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Learning and hugging. There's lots of that here a" woman to woman and man to woman a" which satisfies the movie's fantasy fulfillment of both amity and eros. – Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The show was at its best when it offered, without a great deal of extraneous examination, these glimpses into the nature of friendships between women. The movie needs more of that. – Stephanie Zacharek, Salon.com, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: I walked into the theatre hoping for a nice evening and came out as a hard-line Marxist, my head a whirl of closets, delusions, and blunt-clawed cattiness. All the film lacks is a subtitle: The Lying, the Bitch, and the Wardrobe. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: They're all over 40 now, and writer/director Michael Patrick King deftly balances their hard-won wisdom with the wistful dreams they still share. At the same time, there's plenty of fun to be had. – Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News, Jun 24, 2010

Fabulous!!!

I've seen and own every single episode of Sex and the City and let me just say...this movie did me proud! It was beautiful!!!

Yay!

I can't wait for this! I loved the movie. I was sooo surprised that I didn't cry tho. Maybe if I watch it alone I will...anyways, I can't wait!!!

THE most overrated and underachieving movie of 2008

I expected much, much more from the characters and actresses. I've seen all 6 seasons, and this didn't feel like a continutity except in name, and the characters, seeming to have grown by series 6, have seem to have forgotten what they learned. I mean, really...how many times is Carrie going to fall for Mr. Big's childish antics? When is Miranda going to grow up and soften up, and realize the world isn't all black and white? ANd for Pete's sake, when is Samantha going to start acting her age? This movie had its moments, some humor, and at times some palpable anger. But in the end, it just disappointed me. I thought they would have "modernized" it for the post-9/11, 21st century world...but they sare still stuck in the late '90's. Grow up girls.
