People looking for a clear message should look in places other than this rich, visually stunning documentary. The film is a portrait of a sexual healer in his personal and professional life. Of course there's an ambiguous blend between the two. Dez's dedication to his life path of healing is clear, but what's less clear is how much of what's driving him in any moment is his higher purpose or his shadow. There's a wide range of judgements viewers could make about his choices and actions, but looking past those, we get to see a man living on the edge, risking much, receiving many blessings, and still encountering the deep suffering that comes with attachment. An amazing story, and also a revealing look into light and shadow in one part of the growing sacred sexual healing subculture in the US.
