Plot Summary

Liam Liu (Ken Leung of X-MEN: THE LAST STAND) is a struggling 28-year-old Chinese-American actor who unwittingly finds himself involved with a high school girl, Adelaide (Hayden Panettiere of HEROES). Soon after, Liam learns he has inherited a home from a grandmother he never knew existed in Shanghai. The American-raised character moves to China in an attempt to connect with his ancestry and is forced to leave behind quite possibly the only girl who has ever loved him.

:D So great!

I reallu loved this movie and I think that if it had gotten more publicity it probobly would have been a really big success. It seems that barely anyone has seen this movie, but it's actually really great! I rented it before I bought it just because I wanted to make sure it was worth the money. I think it was a fantastic and sweet movie about the choices we make and finding ourselves. He had to choose between two girls "but in the end the heart wants what the heart wants."

I also really love the two main actors, Hayden Panettiere and Ken Leung. Hayden has been in many movies and shows that I love and I'm glad she was in this one. Ken was in LOST and LOST is by far the best show ever, so to have an actor of his standards in such a low key movie, is unbelieveable. RENT AND BUY THIS MOVIE!
So cute!

my review for shanghai kiss

I loved the movie, my favorite part was when they where dancing at the laundry mat. It reminds me of me and my future husbend he is older only we are dating i think that would of made the story better if hayden and him where dating, much more romantic to see how she could handle him in shanghai and how he could handle her being so young and in high school.

It tries so hard!

Though the movie is completely and utterly implausible (Attractive, rich, 16 year old Beverly Hills Teen Girl falls in love with a balding out of work, unattractive, almost 30 Asian guy) I see where they wanted to go with this movie. It's a "finding yourself and not appreciating what you have until it's gone" movie. Just don't get too caught up in WHY women find this guy attractive at all.
