Plot Summary
After a tribal Pakistani family is sent to live in Los Angeles as refugees, a young boy is forced to become the patriarch of his family. While the move might seem welcome, the family struggles to assimilate with other members of the community and finds life in Los Angeles more challenging than in war-torn Pakistan. Tragedy ultimately strikes after an unfortunate confrontation with neighbourhood kids, which raises the question of who is to blame.

Shaya
Very well done with an important, powerful message. Acting is great. I think the message is: running from violence, to violence. Sad state of the world.
Very Deep Film - Beautifully Crafted
I've seen Shaya in the theaters and was excited for the release on iTunes. I just say that this film is just Wow!
Shaya was extremely well acted and directed. I thought that the film could have been extended a bit to show their growth within the country, but it truly portrayed the difficulty in adjusting to the American culture from Pakistan. The struggles with the gang members, the theft, and rejection from society can definitely relate to other minorities like myself, but Shaya showed a great example of more difficult situations than ours. Great job to Shaya!
Great Movie
Great director, actors and production in this short film. Well done!
