Plot Summary
With the integrity and depth of an epic, Shenandoah tells the dramatic story of a man caught in a dilemma. James Stewart stars as a Virginia farmer during the Civil War. He refuses to support the Confederacy because he is opposed to slavery, yet he will not support the Union because he is deeply opposed to war. When his son is taken prisoner, Stewart goes to search for the boy. Seeing first-hand the horrors of war, he is at last forced to take his stand.

Love it
I really really love this movie. You should watch it.
Best Civil War movie of all time!!
Great acting and story line. Once you start watching you won't stop. Best Jimmy Stewart movie ever. All star cast. Would highly recommend
Great movie
Jimmy Stewart is great and this movie gives him plenty of scenes to show off his talent. Not what I would call historically accurate involving the civil war. It is still a wonderful movie about trying to keep a family together during war and trying to survive. A true classic, it can make you cry, laugh and think - all in an hour and twenty minutes.
