Plot Summary
Love has no borders and therein lies the premise of the charming new Iranian-American romantic comedy "Shirin in Love." Nazanin Boniadi plays Shirin, an absent-minded, young Iranian-American living in "Tehrangeles" (the large Iranian community in Los Angeles) with her overbearing mother and empathetic father. Despite being engaged for years to a successful Iranian plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, Shirin finds herself breaking loyalty and tradition when she falls in love with a mysterious young man who lives in a lighthouse in northern California. As her secret unravels and cultures clash, Shirin discovers what it ultimately means to be true to herself.

Rotten: Apart from its Iranian-American milieu, this innocuous romantic comedy is strictly formulaic.
Rotten: The only possible reaction to an amateurish romance like "Shirin in Love" is: Do the filmmakers think we're all idiots?

Great Romantic Comedy
I recommend this to anyone who likes comedy. When I first saw the film, there was on guy(Maz Jobrani) who I recognized from another film “Friday After Next”. I remember the line “Holy Molly Donut Shop”. He is truly funny in “Shirin in Love" and his other works also. I think director Ramin Niami captured the essence of Persian culture, without over generalizing and bringing too many stereotypes into the film. The acting from top to bottom was phenomenal and plot was pretty cool too. I think Nazanin is a great actress and she really surprised me with her skills in this. She is also super hot, I mean a true babe.
