Plot Summary

Set in southeast Arkansas, this cautionary indie tale and award-winning first feature from director Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Mud) tracks a blood feud that erupts when two sets of half-brothers come to blows at their father's funeral. The first-born siblings dubbed Boy, Son and Kid -- impersonal monikers that embody their father's indifference toward them -- explode in anger upon meeting their counterparts, who have real names and reaped the rewards of their father's later success.

Independent Gem

Great movie, we can see how talented is Jeff Nichols....Now I understand why we call him the new Terrence Malick!!!
A must see movie if you are a film buff

Great American Movie!

This is the first film by Jeff Nichols, the director of Take Shelter but also of Mud with Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon I had the chance to see in Cannes this year :-) The Rotten Tomatoes ratings say it all, this is the major work of a major American talent and with the always amazing Michael Shannon in the lead this is simply a film I had to OWN. This director is Academy Award-bound!

Napoleon Dynamite, but totally unfunny.

Yup, dumb people do dumb things sure 'nuff. And if u need a movie to learn yerself that bit o' wisdom, then this is perfect for u.
