Plot Summary
It's an Oscar-nominated musical look at the lives and loves of a show boat theater troupe aboard an old-fashioned Mississippi riverboat. Featuring all-American classic songs by Oscar Hammerstein and Jerome Kern, including "Ol' Man River." Starring Kathryn Grayson ("Kiss Me Kate"), Oscar-nominees Ava Gardner ("Mogambo," "The Night of the Iguana") and Agnus Moorehead (TV's "Bewitched," "Citizen Kane") and Howard Keel (TV's "Dallas"). Produced by Oscar-winner Arthur Freed ("An American in Paris," "Gigi").

Best Classic Movie EVER!!!
It's hard to put into words how great of a movie this is. All of the singers, especially William Warfeild, are phenomenal. This is the definative version of the movie. If Hollywood were to try to remake Show Boat again, it would be a complete waste of time and money. In short, it's just plain awesome.
Love it
This is really one of the best movies ever. I guess if your not a musical fan or have no taste u may not agree. But those of you with good taste will love it.
Horrible
There's no real plot, so I honestly thought it was a terrible film. Go watch Yankee Doodle Dandy or Singin' in the Rain if you want "classic cinema".
