Well worth it!
A fine smaller film focusing on a lesser known front in World War I, the brutal mountain battles between Austria-Hungary and Italy. Not quite “Das Boot,” but many of the same themes. Performances by the international cast are very good, especially William Moseley (Peter Pevensie from the “Narnia” films), who has matured into a wonderful actor and a credible, compelling leading man, plus a memorable cameo appearance by the great Claudia Cardinale. The only exception is the over-the-top, scenery-chewing actor playing the Italian commander. Spectacular vistas and excellent cinematography more than compensate for the modest budget. Well worth a look.
