Plot Summary

Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America director Douglas Buck follows that gruesome collection of three short films with this feature-length reimaging of cinema auteur Brian De Palma's 1973 horror film concerning a pair of mysterious siblings and the curious reporter who stumbles upon their deadly secret. Grace (Chloë Sevigny) is an ambitious young journalist conducting an investigation of a controversial psychiatrist (Stephen Rea) who is currently maintaining a questionable relationship with disturbed patient Angelique (Lou Doillon). As the investigation continues, Grace soon stumbles into an ongoing conspiracy populated by human experimentation, strange deaths, and a controversial operation. As the probing reporter delves ever deeper into the profoundly unsettling details and witnesses a brutal murder thanks to the unintended assistance of Angelique's latest love interest, Dr. Dylan Wallace, her fragile mental state is quickly shattered by the spiraling violence and unspeakable revelations to which she is now inextricably bound.

Sisters

Well, started out pretty decent, but then just fell apart about 60% into it. End was nothing more than stupid - basic blood and gore with the story going out the window just for cheap effects. This COULD have been a really good movie - the cast was there, but I think the Director missed it badly - which is really too bad for everyone involved.

Not enough information

I am a fan of Stephen Rea and Chloe Sevigny... the reason I rented this movie. Though I prefer movies that DO NOT force feed the audience, the last half of this film did not provide enough information to make a conclusion. For example, there was information significant to the plot that was quickly shown on screen. If you do not pause or more importantly, if all information is not visible then the meaning is lost. I would recommend the film with those reservations.

One of the worst films I have ever seen

Extraordinarily bad... If I could ask for my money back I would... seriously don't waste 90 minutes of your life watching this dud.
