Plot Summary
When suburban couple Harry and Tacey King (Robert Young and Maureen O'Hara) can no longer handle their three intractable sons alone, they hire a baby-sitter, sight-unseen, through an ad in the paper. Their new employee, Mr. Belvedere (Clifton Webb), turns out to be an eccentric, vegetarian, yoga-practicing genius with vast worldly experience. Mr. Belvedere quickly displays a unique and witty way with the children while also fixing items around the house and cooking delicious meals. But when snooping neighbors begin to spread nasty rumors about the Kings' unusual hired help, the family must team up to save their reputation and their sanity!

Sitting Pretty
A few of generations of films buffs have gone by and this superb film has faded into obscurity.
Don't believe me? Ask anyone under 40 if they've heard of this title. The transfer, even in HD is less than stellar but the sound is good.
This is probably the funniest, sleaziest, most witty film ever made! The dialog is beyond excellent.
Character development is super and your dying to know what's going to happen next in every scene! This film was very successful at the time and spawned a whole series of sequels that were fun but not as great as this first one.
I wish this film could be given a proper restoration, meanwhile do yourself a favor, buy it and discover how great film writing can be!
