Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Some Like It Hot does cool off considerably now and again, but Mr. Wilder and his carefree clowns keep it crackling and funny most of the time.
Fresh: Lemmon digs out most of the laughs in the script. As for Marilyn, she's been trimmer, slimmer and sexier in earlier pictures.
Fresh: Pictures like this, with a sense of humor that is as broad as it can be sophisticated, come along only infrequently.
Fresh: Wilder's 1959 comedy is one of the enduring treasures of the movies, a film of inspiration and meticulous craft.

A great classic
"Well nobody's perfect." This movie's famous line definatly does not fit with the storyline of this movie. Because "Some Like it Hot" is a perfect movie. This movie is a great classic, and should be viewed by everyone. The comedic pairing of Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis is fantastic, and adding in the beauty of Marilyn Monroe makes this movie a must see. True comedy without sex, swears, or drugs involved.
One of the Greatest Comedies Ever
Billy Wilder's 'Some Like it Hot' is a near perfect comedy. It has smart writing, great lines, originality, and actors who play characters who act as other characters (and quite well). Very funny. On a more historical note, the most famous line from this film is also the most representative phrase of Wilder's career and is part of the epitaph on his tombstone. This is a great film. Please watch.
This movie is a staple in a movie collection!
Some Like It Hot, a movie that has it all when talking about a comedy. Actually, this movie could be the very definition of what a comedy is. Billy Wilder is one of my favorite directors, and he certainly does not disappoint here. Now that they have this movie, when are they going to release The Apartment, my favorite movie of Wilder's? I hope soon. Enjoy this movie! If you are ever at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, check out one of the channels, because it plays this movie 24/7 due to a part of it being filmed there, just a fyi!
