Plot Summary

Based on the best selling novel by Peter Cameron, Someday This Pain Will Be Useful To You is a funny and heartfelt film about a vulnerable yet precocious teenager named James with a deep appreciation for the world and no idea how to live in it. Living in New York City, the child of divorced parents who may be better served examining their own lives, James rejects all the assumptions that govern the adult world around him, including the expectation that he will go college in the Fall. Awesome Coming of Age Movie

I loved this movie, surprisingly. Went in with pretty low expectations but came out very pleased.

Based in New York, Someday captures the angst that growing up as one person in a huge city can create. The main character faces all the chaos and absurdity around him and learns how to cope with those challenges. A simple, charming well-done coming of age film

Great movie!

Such a talented cast and I love New York. I hope Toby Regbo becomes a big star one day. He is super talented! Must-see.

Great Film!

I thought this movie was fantastic. Beautifully done, and such a great cast! Toby Regbo makes you fall in love with James from the start, and you root for him throughout the entire film. Definitely worth checking out!
