Plot Summary

In "Soy Sauce and the Holocaust" Rob Schneider takes on the biggest role of his life: a stand-up comedian, as he learns lessons about love and other cultures. He tells the side-splitting stories of the three hoods: childhood, adulthood, and parenthood. From closet farts to his sex life, Rob isn't holding back any of the dirty details. Don't miss this hilarious hour-long special that will leave you wondering how you lived before seeing this!

Not As Abysmal As You Might Expect

I wish they allowed half stars - I'd bump it up to a 2.5 because, while I didn't think it very funny, etc. in fairness to Snyder there are a number of stand up specials on iTunes worse than his. In a sense then, this is "average" in terms of what's available.

Subjectively, it just didn't make me laugh enough to call it okay in the way I might call a Mike Birbiglia-channels-Marc-Maron outing "okay".

Do you like to have a couple when you watch your comedy? That would help - this is not a strong comedy special, but if you're like me and find Schneider's sense of humour as rating between Dane Cook and the Holdomor {that other Holocaust we never hear about} - honestly, it wasn't as bad as I anticipated.

'Needs improvement' for sure, but judging Rob by your other choices on here, honestly, he's somewhere in the middle. With work, he might even turn in some decent stuff {stay away from Sandler, maybe, who I'm sure is a great guy but juvenile humor only goes so far}.

There's no reason to buy this. If they offer it for rental, it's worth checking out some stormy night with a bottle of your favorite boozeahol.
