Most Incredible!!

This guy's a true genius. As an avid fan of Bill Withers since forever, I feel honored to be the first reviewer. Bill Withers' music has played a significant role in my life's soundtrack. Just about every mix tape I made in highschool contained no less than 4 of his songs. It's so exciting to be able to take a closer glimpse at the man contributed so much to the music world. May everyone watch this incredible doc and enjoy it as much as I have. Hopefully the creative genius of Bill Withers will be even more appreciated than what is.

A must see. I grew up as a kid listening to Bill. Watching this documentary was an insight to Bill's heart and soul. He is so great and profound that it's impossible not to recognize him as one of the top song writers, artists and overall great guys of our time.

Normally not one to be considered a "documentary" type, I was riveted to screen for the duration of the film. His story is worth sharing with those from all walks.

Still Bill is the Real Deal!

Still Bill

This is a wonderful documentary, enjoyable and moving. At 70 years old, Bill Withers speaks with great insight about his own fame and his need to be true to his values and roots. Fabulous footage of him performing in his prime is interspersed with reflections while lounging at home with his family. A special touch is his nostalgic visit to his coal-mining hometown of Slab Fork, and a visit to a program for young people struggling with the challenges of stuttering, a condition that Withers experienced his entire youth and young adulthood.

Oh, but the music! It was great to see and hear his early performances and be reminded of his wonderful, infectious, heartfelt, and soulful music. The film helps you understand his decision to step back from a recording industry that increasingly pushed him to perform formulaic pop tunes instead of his authentic sound.

Makes you want to spend a day just listening to his beautiful tunes. An American treasure.
