oh my god. I think my brain broke.
Aside from the predictable plotline and mediocre acting. Which, actually, I can see past all that and still enjoy a movie. Actually, Amber Benson is a terrible actreess. I can't get past that. I look at her and wanna say "Isn't that cute? Look at her trying" BUT aside all that. There's one thing I can't overcome. And this, ladies and gentlement is it... The two main women invite the two main men to live in their "POOL HOUSE" (that's important.. POOL HOUSE) and be their live in male prostitutes, essentially, until the Two Guys find steady work in.. whatever they do. Keep in mind, they had been staying in a hotel. With 4 walls, a bed and a bathroom. So, living in a pool house? sure! I'd take that. But... the "POOL HOUSE" was a tent, set up by the pool. Not a camping tent, mind you. One of those tents people Sit under when they eat outside, no more than 8x8ft. I might have turned the movie off.. But the sheer rediculousness to me, that after seeing "The Pool House" the guys don't say anything in protest nor do they decide to go live somewhere else (with, i don't know.. Insulation?) made me want to know weather or not there was an actual poolhouse or if this was really happening how i saw it. The fact remains... someone was unwilling to make script sacrifices due to budgeting. I can hear the meeting now "NO! They Will LIVE in a POOLHOUSE. Budget is not my problem! I don't care if we have to get a Tent and Put it by a Pool. They WILL live in a POOLHOUSE!" I don't see why they couldn't stay in side in a spare room or something. It bothered me so much I actually finished the movie to see if maybe there was a poolhouse I was missing in the background. There was not, ladies and gentlemen.. And that's when my brain cracked.
sweet & hilarious
sweet love story but also VERY funny. this is an indie film, so it's very authentic in portraying how men and women really react in situations involving sex, love, and friendship. watch it if you have ever been in love!!!
two thumbs up
While i am not the most critical viewer, i'm sure, I greatly enjoyed this film, and would strongly urge anyone who enjoys romantic comedies to watch it. This movie very accurately portrays real human emotions in a very intricate and emotionally intriguing light. Beautiful storyline and talented acting. (5 stars)
