Plot Summary

To become a legend in professional sports, it takes passion, courage, and enormous balls. Ross (Ross Patterson) is an out-of-work actor, minimum wage pizza delivery drone, and a really good bowler. His animal-care girlfriend Lindsay (Tara Reid) has just been fired for causing a crazed penguin orgy. But when their stoner roommate suggests they hit the highway as polyester pimps “Ross Vegas” and “Lil’ Reno,” the trio takes the alleys and gutters of the professional bowling tour by storm. Will the pressures of stardom now split their friendship forever or is that just how a playa rolls?

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Rough-hewn and modest, stirring but rarely grandiose. This seems fitting, since part of what made Solidarity so inspiring was its gritty, determined refusal of ideological grandstanding or political melodrama. – A.O. Scott, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: German vet Volker Schloendorff stumbles slightly, but doesn't fall, with Poland-set Solidarity saga Strike. – Eddie Cockrell, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: An inspiring tale of a small woman who stands tall in the face of injustice. – Kevin Crust, Los Angeles Times, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: This is Iron Curtain porn at its most shameless -- a rousing industrial rock song plays in the background every time [director] Schlondorff wants to invoke the Spirit of Labor -- but [actress] Thalbach's Agnieszka is irresistible. – Julia Wallace, Village Voice, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten Tomatoes reviews about different film!

The link to rotten tomatoes is plainly about a different film - they refer to the Polish political movement, Solidarity (remember Lech Walesa, Pope John Paul II & all that?). The title 'Strike' makes sense. I've no idea about this bowling comedy, other than to say, from the preview, RT probably found it rotten rather than 90% plus ...
