Plot Summary
Famed Japanese auteur Takashi Miike, best known for cult classics "Audition", "Ichi the Killer", and "The City of Lost Souls", redefines the spaghetti Western with "Sukiyaki Western Django," an epic tale of blood, lust and greed. Two clans, the white and the red, battle for a legendary treasure hidden in a desolate mountain town. One day a lone gunman with incredible shooting skills drifts into town. The two clans try to woo the lone gunman to their sides, but he has ulterior motives. Dirty tricks, betrayal, desire and love collide as the situation erupts into a final, explosive showdown.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: A loving and lurid pastiche of the spaghetti westerns that were themselves lurid pastiches of classic Hollywood cowboy pictures.
Rotten: Basic joke wears off after five minutes, and many bystanders will start to head out of town.
Rotten: Cult director Takashi Miike's English-language Sukiyaki Western Django has style to burn but self-destructs like a wildfire as it attempts to spoof spaghetti westerns -- a passe endeavor -- and Sergio Corbucci's Django in particular.
Fresh: Sukiyaki Western Django is a blood-drenched, dynamite, often hilarious and uniquely weird big-screen entertainment.

Worse than the Wishmaster Movies
This has got to be the worst movie I have ever seen. I don't know whose reviews those are above and below this one, but they must work for ITunes. Yes, they revisited a common story in Japanese and Western fiction. No, they didn't do it well. What a waste of time. By the way, we can read. They could have spoken Japanese and put English subtitles. Instead they had all the non-english speaking Japanese actors speak in phonetic english which made the movie pretty stupid. Do not waste your time with this movie. I know what you are thinking: "Hey, it couldn't be that bad." I knew this wasn't going to be a "good" movie, but I know that not all movies are. Those "not so great" movies are good when you just want to relax. This movie, however, is way below watchable. Save your money. Don't watch it.
MUST SEE THIS MOVIE
This movie is one of the best I've ever seen. You do not know what you are missing if you haven't seen this movie. Great action and story, and greater directing and acting. Five stars do not give this movie justice. Sit down and watch it now.
Its the same classic over again!!
This plot is just like Akira Kurasawa's Yojimbo, or Sanjuro. They are both linked. Toshiro Mifune plays a lone samurai Ronin. This movie just pumps up the action. Its great to see good movies revisited and done just as well. American movies really haven't done so well for many of their older flicks. Oh well. Nobody is perfect.
