Plot Summary
"Undeniably exciting" is what Leonard Maltin calls this pioneering film that kicked off the entire "blaxploitation" action film genre of the 1970s. When you're born, raised and trapped in the ghetto, you want to get out any way you can - in this case, it's a Harlem drug dealer trying to set up a retirement fund before he quits the business for good. Directed by Gordon Parks, Jr. ("The Learning Tree"), and featuring the classic score by legendary Curtis Mayfield

A Classic!
Nothing else like it! Curtis Mayfield's soundtrack is a masterpiece in itself. Combined with the film's action, it's a knockout. Check-out the soundtrack!
The Boss
It is the mindset of every independent thinking young black male, regardless of the circumstances around them. The only thing is you know the consequences of your actions. Also its one of the most beautiful and relevant movie scores I've ever heard, play it in my I Phone Majortiy of the time. In fact, i feel Curtis Mayfield is the star of the whole movie despite the acting of the other actors his score offers the real life narration. Finally, in doing research on these movies im begining to lose major interest in rap music not the fact that they try to imitate but being that their not TRUE in no sense, none of them from Jay go straight down to wayne.
The Title Says It All
The era of playas that will never be seen again in history. Cats doin and sayin whatever they had to to get over on others to survive in the hood. Comin from times that were hard 4real, so you had to be real. This movie is not for the weak minded, who think they can imitate
