Plot Summary

The film begins with Martin, an acclaimed scriptwriter currently entering a rocky patch in his career, giving a lecture to a group of students. This is a scene which we return to throughout as it provides clues as to the direction of the narrative. At a party that evening for his daughter’s birthday Martin meets the seductive and mysterious Angelique. When he finds her upstairs in his study the sexual tension is undoubtedly evident. However, when Angelique’s body turns up in a canal 2 days later we are led to question both Martin and the circumstances of her death. This mystery is increased yet further with the arrival of her twin sister Therese. Over the course of the film the mystery about the sister’s past, the disappearance of Martin’s wife 10 years ago and Angelique’s death will all be called into question.

Customer Reviews

Movie makes you think.

The 'ending' will be slightly disappointing and the events leading up to it, sets you up for an expectation for what you think it will be. Well played. The plot is confusing at first but everything comes to light around mid way, there are details that really make you think what is really going on. It's worth renting, but not buying as it's current price. The acting in my opinion was good and is perhaps the redeeming quality of this movie.
