Plot Summary
Directed by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Team America: World Police is a tongue-in-cheek but nonetheless politically biting send-up of the CGI-laden, big-budget action movies that have taken an almost exclusive hold over mainstream box offices, particularly during the summer months. Inspired by the Thunderbirds, a popular 1960s children's series, Team America: World Police uses similarly styled, but significantly more crass, marionette puppets in lieu of computer-generated images to breath life into an elite group of adventurers known as Team America. Their mission: to travel the world, root out its terrorists, and keep evil at bay. Aside from intentionally employing all of the hallmarks of standard action-adventure blockbuster formulas, from a prototypical hero to his communist arch-rival, the film also boasts the occasional musical number. The puppets were created by Norman Tempia along with Charles and Stephen Chiodo, the brothers behind the cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Team America: World Police is not based on Team America, a 1980s series from Marvel Comics, which followed a patriotic team of racecar drivers.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Team America is not as funny as the South Park movie, and some of its juvenile humor falls flat. But when Team America works, it falls squarely into the category of guilty pleasure.
Rotten: The first work from Parker and Stone that I'd describe as a failure of nerve.
Fresh: Team America is at once grandiose and tacky, elaborate and deflationary.
Fresh: Profane and sometimes bitingly funny.

T.A. Puts a Jihad on ALL comedies!
Hands down this is THE funniest comedy/action movie EVER. And if you are South Park fan, you must see this movie; you will definitely love it. Matt & Trey have once again done an outstanding job with their comedy magic. Not only is it funny the first time, but even on the 100th time; it's one you can watch over and over again!! Buy it now! It's completely worth it! -S
Hysterical
I was not sure what to expect when this movie first came out. South Park is genius, but I didn't know if a movie made entirely with puppets could be tolerable and funny for the whole length of it. Believe me, it is. This is one of the funniest movies you will ever see. The political satire is pure genius, the songs are brilliant (especially my personal favorite, "Pearl Harbor Sucked and I Miss You"), and the storyline is intelligent. If you are the type of person who likes things like South Park, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report, then you will love this movie. Frankly, anyone with an ounce of a sense of humor will love this movie. Much more than toilet humor, or unintelligent comedy, this movie is comic gold. Buy it, laugh at it, love it, then learn the songs.
Team America
All i can say is... GREAT!! This movie is pretty hilarious. Buy South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut first, then buy this movie if you liked South Park.
