Plot Summary

"T2" grossed $204+ million, and now Golden Globe-winner Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in the highly anticipated third chapter in the blockbuster franchise, directed by Jonathon Mostow ("U571," "From the Earth to the Moon"). Eight years ago, the machines who rule the future sent an unstoppable Terminator to assassinate the young John Connor. They failed. Now, they're trying again, and Connor must face a female Terminatrix with power over all the machines. But a new T-800 unit Terminator sent back through time will guide him through the coming battle. Golden Globe winner Claire Danes ("The Hours," "The Mod Squad," "My So-Called Life") and supermodel Kristanna Loken ("Panic," "Gangland") co-star.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines may lack the mythic pow of the 1984 original and the visionary thrill of T2, but it's a potent popcorn movie that digs in its hooks and doesn't let go until an ending that ODs on apocalyptic hoo-ha. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Nov 24, 2006

Fresh: Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines tells the simple yet compelling story of a very old piece of equipment that refuses to go away. Its name is Arnold Schwarzenegger, and, as famously promised, he's back, and at his anticharismatic best, too. – Wesley Morris, Boston Globe, Sep 9, 2003

Rotten: Wastes no time getting very loud and very silly and never really lets up. – Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: A sizable quotient of the movie's target audience just wants to see stuff destroyed, and in that regard Rise of the Machines won't disappoint. – J. R. Jones, Chicago Reader, Jun 24, 2010

Finally!

I have been waiting for this movie to show up on iTunes for so long... Warner Bros. was obviously delaying the release for some lame reason. Anyways, this movie is great! It follows the first two movies perfectly. More modern, great acting, great story. If you liked any Terminator movie, you'll like this.

A worthy film, flawed but watchable.

The first Terminator film was groundbreaking, T2 was monumental. This one breaks no new ground but does set an impressive precedence as far as effects and technical achievements go. The storyline is pushed a bit further, which Terminator fans will like. Claire Danes does a great job as Kate Brewster, the new John Connor is so-so, and Arnold reprises his role without much being lost. All in all, it should set up for Terminator:Salvation pretty well, but if you're a fan of the Sarah Connor Chronicles there might be some definite warps in continuity.

Amazing Movie

This movie is the best in the series so far! It has a perfect amount of suspense, drama and climax making it a very exciting movie to watch.
