Thanga Meenkal

Plot Summary

Thanga Meenkal is about Kalyani (Ram), who is a school dropout with a non-paying job. He obsessively cares about his nine-year-old daughter Chellamma (Sadhana), who lives in a world of her own. None of her teachers figure out that she's a dyslexic child and not able to differentiate between alphabets. The realities of everyday life gradually separate the father and daughter. Can their bond withstand the tests of fate and bring them together again? The film also highlights the current day education system and the kind of discrimination students face by school teachers.
