Plot Summary
Tom Hanks writes, directs and co-stars in this refreshing, big-hearted comedy that captures the overnight triumph of an American rock band during the glory days of rock and roll. When a young appliance salesman agrees to fill-in for an injured drummer in a local talent show, four shooting stars are born. Faster than you can say "That Thing You Do," a Play-Tone Records executive (Hanks) signs the group and catapults them to fame as their signature tune skyrockets to the top of the charts!

That Thing You Do!
I tried to write a review. I really did. I tried to write a smart, educated assessment of this film; an insanely long list of reasons why you should see this movie; and I also tried the "I'll just write my whole spiel in the title box" kind of review. But you know what? I found that this movie can't be described by any of these... it's just too good. But it's better than just "Good". It's amazing. Trust me. Buy this movie.
the greatest movie you will ever see.
this is the type of movie that you will see once and never forget. its funny and theres great music! it just seems so real and all the characters are unforgetable! tom hanks brilliantly played and directed in this movie. he deserves both to behind and in front of the camera. any parents out there who read this: this ok for any age. the only remotely adult part is the kissing scene at the end. it might gross some of the younger kids out but really not all as racy as kissing scenes can go. your kids will love the music and even get up and dance to it (i know i did!) a great family movie a must buy! you will never forget it.
Such a Great Movie
This movie is so good! It's fun, sweet, and has great music! If I could give it more stars, I would. Tom Hanks does a fantastic job.
