Plot Summary
Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire. When a single mother and her two sons move to the sleepy seaside California town of Santa Clara, they discover much more than they anticipated in this visually stunning blend of hip humor, horror and rock 'n' roll about the most compelling group of contemporary vampires ever to put fang to vein.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: It laughs at the form it embraces, adds a rock-and-roll soundtrack and, if you share its serious-satiric attitude, manages to be very funny.
Rotten: A horrifically dreadful vampire teensploitation entry.
Fresh: There's always room for fancy trash, and this movie -- about a gang of punk vampires terrorizing the new kids in town -- seems capable of providing some. Then the characters open their mouths.
Fresh: It starts slow, but finishes fast with some clever plot twists. In the end, all is not lost with these boys.

Laugh, scream and laugh again
I watched this movie three times at the theater in 1987 and still love it! This vampire movie is the epitome of excellent humor/horror. Just when you are sitting on the edge of your seat getting ready for the next scary scene you get a joke or a snide remark. As you are relaxed by the humor, bam you get hit with a nail bitter of a scary scene. The soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard; some of my favorite music came from this soundtrack. It is as much a classic as Frankenstein or The Mummy!
Wow what a masterpiece
This movie made me love vampire movies of all kinds. It involves horror action and a little love. Why couldnt Twilight be this good?
