Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: There's a mystery here, some thrills and blood, but mostly there are beautiful people and the kind of human hunger that devours everything and everyone in sight. – Manohla Dargis, New York Times, Sep 25, 2014

Fresh: Is the film too old-school for short attention spans? Maybe. Rest assured that Amini's shuddery endgame is well worth the wait. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Sep 25, 2014

Fresh: Patricia Highsmith provides the plot and writer-director Hossein Amini supplies the culture in The Two Faces of January, a gripping old-school suspenser. – Peter Debruge, Variety, Sep 22, 2014

Rotten: The Two Faces of January feels shot too tight and cut too tight; it doesn't push forward at a bewilderingly fast pace, but its story and its performances still feel like they need more room to breathe. – Tomas Hachard, NPR, Sep 25, 2014

Customer Reviews

It's no Talented Mr. Ripley

The performances are great and the scenery is beautiful. It really has all the elements I love. But, nothing about the plot is very unexpected or terribly interesting. It's just ok.

Brilliant film!

This cast nails it!

Flat ending

A fine thriller, but the ending was a let -down.
