Jerry (Mantegna), a misfit Mafia henchman, seems destined for low level jobs like keeping an eye on Gino (Ameche), a shoe repairman fingered by the mob to confess to a murder he didn't commit. But Things Change when Gino is mistaken for a Mafia boss and the two are suddenly catapulted to the highest levels of mobster status... a dangerous adventure that only friendship will see them through alive!

funny and charming
I've seen this a couple of times and now it's here I'll watch it again -- wonderful bittersweet film by Mamet with several of his "rep" actors (v. young Montegna, William H. Macy, and the great JT Walsh (RIP). Great soundtrack too as I recall. Highly recommended, even if you don't like Mamet's other, darker fare.
Not funny
This is more of a drama than a comedy. I think I laughed once. Not bad, and is entertaining but if you want to laugh, probably not the right movie.
