Plot Summary
The film wends its way through three cities and three tales. The various stories, situated in Paris, Rome, and New York, are, at first glance, all separate, but Haggis effortlessly makes connections among them as the film unwinds, concentrating on three men and their romantic entanglements.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The muddled concept is forced to the point of breaking, the writing overheated and the story arc grimly perplexing.
Rotten: "Third Person" maddens far more than it intrigues. Indeed, more curious than anything about the movie itself is how such an artistic stumble happened.
Rotten: Writer-director Paul Haggis' exasperating multistory drama about how hard it is for a nice, quiet, sensitive guy to be left alone to write an exasperating multistory drama.
Rotten: "Third Person" staggers well over the two-hour mark only to self-destruct in a burst of overwrought cleverness.

Amazing movie!!!
One of the best movies I have ever seen. Complex story lines, yet you are emotionally invested in each of the 3 stories, that cross each other in a surprising way. It's a movie that makes you think, long after the movie has ended!!!!! I have seen it more than one time, and each time I discover something new. Beautifully written!!
Interesting
A “OK” movie because it couldn’t grasp my attention long enough, but good enough to make me watch it twice (in case I missed anything interesting from my mind wondering first time around viewing). I love James Franco so I had to see this movie and I wish there was more of him in this film. Def. recommend anyone to see this movie. It’s sort of like “Crash” but more complexly written, thought provoking and artistic.
Great Movie!!!
What a stellar cast!!!
One to watch again and again year after year because even though story is complex and basically a puzzle, the film is masterfully and beautifully crafted. All performances were amazing. The more I watched it the more I wanted to understand it. Powerful performances like never seen before from Liam Neeson and also Mila Kunis, Olivia Wilde, Adrian Brody, Maria Bello and Kim Basinger. The director had won two oscars for million dollar baby and Crash so the whole film creates a universe of the human condition writ large through different forms of love - Good and Bad! This is on another level. It is a film that requires your attention from the ground level and watching this film I found myself caught up in a direct and emotional way because of the realism of what Love means to many in today's day. Be prepared to feel! You'll see the oscar worthy performances for yourself! I watched this movie twice because it's an inescapable emotional roller-coaster!! Brilliant Film Making
