Plot Summary
In the first adventure based on the novels about the world's most famous kid detectives, The Three Investigators follow an invitation to South Africa where they are sucked into a journey that has them risking their lives! This investigation finds them helping a young girl escape from dangerous Cape Town while they chase an evil treasure hunter through deserts and across mountaintops, and eventually leads them to a breathtaking showdown with a mysterious, horrific creature named “The Tokolosh.” Uncovering the true secret of Skeleton Island will prove to be the most adventurous – and dangerous – case The Three Investigators have ever had!

Slightly below average but worth 3 bucks
The movie begins with some fun action (see the preview) and then proceeds to slow down to an almost boring pace, wherein the viewer may be tempted to give up on what seems to be a stereotypical cookie-cutter mystery. Ultimately the struggle for resolution is interesting and engaging, and the movie remains clean with a several touches of adolesent puppy love and mildly frightening sequences. Don't expect to much, its for kids and the acting is a bit stilted.
Good family fun
Take Indiana Jones Jr and Nancy Drew and what do you get? This movie. It's not overly exciting and action packed but for the younger children, it's good, clean fun. Set in South Africa, the 3 young boys find themselves solving a mystery and reuniting history. It has a few funny moments but overall, if you are looking for a suspense, this is not it. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but as my title states, this is a good family movie that your younger children will enjoy.

I'm a person who totally loves mysteries and this is great. This movie has lots of suspense an fun. You'll really love it!
