Plot Summary

H.G. Wells pursues Jack the Ripper through 19th-century London to modern-day San Francisco when the serial murderer uses the future writer's time machine to escape his time period in this critically acclaimed romantic thriller starring Malcolm McDowell ("A Clockwork Orange," "Star Trek: Generations") and his then wife, Oscar-winner Mary Steenburgen ("Philadelphia," "Parenthood"). A favorite oldie

I never failed to watch this when it came on cable as a kid. Great plot and lots of fun to watch. Has its hokey moments like most old thrillres but it's smart and unique. I own it.

New re-review.

I had nt seen this movie since 197 in the theatre. It was a good time travel movie. I still enjoyed it very much. The acting was alittle hokey. But I rememberinking that in 1979.. Well worth renting.

happy to see this movie is getting watched!

wonderful film that tanked when it came out. Brilliant concept incredibly well executed. Very good performance by macdowell.
