Greatly entertaining for everyone....
I remember being younger waiting for this come out into theatres, it seemed so different and out there that it just had to be wonderful. As a teen I was floored by the effects and style of this animated film. Last year I was at a movie rental store and I saw it in the bargin bin. I thought that it wouldn't had been as good since times had changed since I'd last seen it. But....I was wrong. It was still amazingly entertaining even now. The effects still hold up to the advancement of movies now a days. The voice acting is great. Plus, it even has those wonderful adult under tones we always enjoy. So yeah, it's a def. must see.
One of the most underrated movies of all time
This movie was a blast to watch. The story is great. If you like space westerns, a la Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Firefly etc. you're in familiar territory. It was a financial flop when it hit theatres 8 years ago. But don't let theater performance choose whether or not you should watch it. Rent it already.
We need more sci fi like this
All too often we get television shows and movies that show space, space travel, and the future in general as pristine, clean, and flawless. I can understand the appeal there, but sometimes, sci fi just needs to be grungy and "real" - though I use the word loosely here. Titan A.E. shows us a dirty and highly flawed future, and it makes it hit closer to home - a fantastical story seems a tiny bit more approachable because we can relate to it more easily. Even though the gritty aspects often end up underappreciated, it is what makes this movie a notable success as a member of the science fiction family. I was not all that surprised to see Joss Whedon credited for screenplay. Whedon has shown that his love for this particular subset of sci fi runs deep, first with Titan A.E., and then with Firefly/Serenity.
