Plot Summary

Based on two classic literary works, written by the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson, respectively. The Great Meadow is a rolling expanse of flowers surrounded by groves of trees, streams and nature in all its glory. Thumbelina, a beautiful eighteen-year old who is but two inches tall, is the Princess of the Great Meadow, and has her hands full trying to keep order amongst the flower faeries and meadow creatures over whom she rules. Beyond the Great Meadow is Castle Greenville, ruled by King Richard. Although King Richard has a host of loyal knights, his most devoted subject is the tiny Tom Thumb, a boy of Thumbelina's age and size. King Richard's wicked son Medwin decides to make a niche in the world for himself by destroying the Great Meadow and building an ultra-big castle complex. In order to do this, he arranges to have the good King Richard imprisoned. Thumbelina goes to the castle to try and talk Medwin out of his evil plan. She runs smack into Tom Thumb and they realize that it is up to them to find a way to save the Great Meadow and King Richard. These two small heroes and the meadow creatures conquer seemingly unbeatable odds by working together as they protect the environment.
