Typical
Just the usual horror movie fare. A family moves to an old house where murders occurred only to find out the killers are still there. Nothing remarkable with very little scares.
Seriously, why even bother?
Nothing about this movie made sense, and it was so freaking ridiculous, it should not even be labeled as a horror-film. As if stealing the animal masked intruder premise from the vastly superior “You’re Next” was bad enough, it was so poorly handled in this movie, I just had to shake my head in amazement. People actually financed this garbage? The main characters made stupid decisions after stupid decisions, and the story plodded along at an embarrassing attempt at tension. Seriously the only good thing I can say about the movie was that the acting wasn’t terrible. That’s it. But why the f$%^k are you going to make an R-Rated horror film if you are going to shy away from showing any horror? Keep your expectations low and you will still be disappointed. Absolutely dreadful.
Very cool!
So if you liked the idea of "you're next" and "strangers" then you should feel right at home with this one and enjoy it. I love this type of horror film and there is plenty of good quick scares. I do think it's funny though how trendy horror films can be, such as the paranormal, the home invasion, the zombies, the found footage and now the animal masks, which I have seen in 3 current films now. This was definitely worth the rental and purchase price and I was quite pleased. Simple, fun and a bit scary. What more could you ask for. Although there isn't much of anything overly new or ground breaking in its idea, it's well worth the watch and a good example of simple entertaining horror. Enjoy!
