Plot Summary
In this carefully crafted suspense thriller, a group of problem students at an exclusive Northeastern prep school band together to wage a desperate and deadly campaign against terrorists who lay siege to their school in an effort to free a Colombian drug lord from an American prison.

Unknown Classic
Toy Soldiers is a little known classic from the early 90s with an excellent cast and a great story. As a group of terrorists take over a prep school, a handful of degenerate students hatch a plan to take back the school. A must for any movie fan in need of escape from today's subpar offerings.
Framing Issue
As a serious DVD collector, I like my movies in widescreen. When TOY SOLDIERS was released in 2002, I was disappointed that it was only Full-Frame. So, when I downloaded the Widescreen edition from here, I compared the two versions in synch, side by side. The truth is, either way, the viewer is getting pooched. The WS version (1.85:1) is a bit wider on each side, but crops the top and bottom of the picture which appears 1/4 taller in the FF version. Another case of an open matte situation. The movie was shot at 1.33:1 then cropped to produce a 1.85:1 theatrical version. Viewer be warned.
Favorite movie
I'm a 15 year old girl and this is my favorite movie! I've seen it 1000X it's worth the buy. Plus Sean Astin is so cute in this movie ;)
