Plot Summary
Shelley Long discovers that when the going gets tough, the tough go camping in Troop Beverly Hills, a comedy about lifestyles of the rich and outrageous. Flamboyantly wealthy Phyllis Nefler (Long) has everything money can buy - a drop-dead Beverly Hills mansion, a classic Rolls, furs, jewelry and designer gowns. The one thing she doesn't have is her husband Freddy (Craig T. Nelson), who's leavingher for good. Maybe. Determined to prove she's still the creative, energetic woman Freddy once loved, Phyllis throws luxury to the wind and becomes leader of her daughter's Wilderness Girls troop. But how much can this chic cookie take before she crumbles? Is saving her marriage really worth trading Gucci bags for sleeping bags - not to mention actually touching bugs? Featuring cameos by Robin Leach, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Pia Zadora, Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, Dr. Joyce Brothers and Cheech Marin. Shelley Long blazes new comic trails in this hilarious trial-by-campfire that leaves the wilderness wilder than ever.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Dreadful as their performances are, the actors are the victims.
Rotten: Instead of being a merciless evisceration of the lifestyles of the rich, it's a little morality play in which Long transforms herself into a warm and useful person. Nobody within a mile of this project seems to have possessed an ounce of irony.

ONE OF THE BEST!!
This movie will never get old! it is one of the best for sure!
It's Cookie Time!!!
"We're the girls from Beverly Hills, shopping is our greatest thrill!" If you've never seen this cinematic masterpiece, like OMG, get going! Minus Tori Spelling's role being miniscule, this is a must see! It's soooo 80's, hysterical, campy, satirical, and the acting/writing/casting is brilliant. One of Shelley Long's best! "Patches? We don't need no stinkin' patches!"
Fabulous, nostalgic fun!
This movie was around when I was young, and when I found it on iTunes, I couldn't resist buying it for my iPod. It has such a great cast - not just Shelley Long and Craig T. Nelson, but a very young Kellie Martin, Ami Foster, and Jenny Lewis as three of the kids. It's just a happy, upbeat , nostalgic film all the way through. It will remind some female audiences of their former Girl Scout days, and best of all, it hasn't lost a bit of its charm, so it's still a good movie choice for slumber parties or Girl Scout troops today! The "Cookie Time" song and "Beverly Hills, What a Thrill!" are sure to be stuck in your head for days. Hope you enjoy it as much as I still do!
