Plot Summary
Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. lead an ensemble cast in "Tropic Thunder," an action comedy about a group of self-absorbed actors who set out to make the most expensive war film. After ballooning costs force the studio to cancel the movie, the frustrated director refuses to stop shooting, leading his cast into the jungles of Southeast Asia, where they encounter real bad guys.

Absolutely hillarious and brilliant.
I haven't seen a movie this funny in a while, though I didn't see the theatrical version; my wife and I just rented the director's cut in HD on Apple TV. The movie has brilliant, extreme parody without going over the edge or becoming obnoxious, and plenty of great twists. Surprisingly top-notch comedic acting as well, with a lot of big names and what is easily one of Tom Cruise's best roles ever—especially since he actually seems un-Cruise for once. We paid $5 to rent this in HD, and I still want to buy it. Tropic Thunder was that good.
