Plot Summary
Christian Slater ("Interview With the Vampire," "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves") and Patricia Arquette ("Ed Wood") star in the story of two unlikely lovers propelled into a violent game of high stake negotiations and high-speed adventure when they take unexpected possession of valuable mob contraband. They plan to go from Detroit to L.A., sell the booty, and begin a new life, but the gangsters -- and the police -- have other dangerous ideas. Phenomenal all-star cast includes Val Kilmer ("Batman Forever") as the ghost of Elvis, Slater's confidante, Academy Award-nominee Brad Pitt ("Seven"), Gary Oldman ("Immortal Beloved"), Golden Globe-nominee Tom Sizemore ("Saving Private Ryan"), Bronson Pinchot (TV's "Perfect Strangers") and Samuel L. Jackson ("Pulp Fiction"), with Dennis Hopper ("Speed") and Academy Award-winner Christopher Walken ("Batman Returns") sparring in an edge-of-your-seat showdown that has become a contemporary classic. Written by Academy Award-winner Quentin Tarantino ("Pulp Fiction," "Reservoir Dogs") and directed by Tony Scott ("The Last Boy Scout," "Top Gun"). "This movie is dynamite!" raves Rolling Stone. "Electrifying!" agrees Rex Reed. And USA Today calls Arquette and Slater "irresistible, in the best crime rush since 'GoodFellas.'"

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: This film's various outrages are committed unapologetically, and are very much in the service of its bizarre story.
Fresh: It's Tarantino's gutter poetry that detonates True Romance. This movie is dynamite.
Fresh: If shoot-'em-up, gobble-'em-down movies like The Fugitive and Jurassic Park are rated PG-13 these days, what does an R-rated action adventure look like? Like True Romance: violent to a fault, glam to the max.
Fresh: Sifting through the bloody, pulpy trash of True Romance -- should you care to -- you'll find amusing, smart-alecky nuggets planted by screenwriter Quentin Tarantino.

perfection
This is a very rare piece of cinematic perfection from the writing to the casting to the finished product. It's hard to find a better movie and it's a shame that there aren't more out there like it. Walken and Hopper nailed there scene together which was set up perfectly by the brilliant writing of the master, Quentin Terantino. A must own movie. If you don't love it, I feel sorry for you.
