Plot Summary

Fresh: Any movie that signals the menace of a potential lynching by zooming its camera through the loop of a gallows noose cannot claim subtlety, but director Jay Russell never lets the swirling emotions of Tuck become too drippy.
Rotten: Bledel and Jonathan Jackson's gorge-side canoodling drifts dangerously close to Blue Lagoon territory.
Fresh: As Winnie, Gilmore Girl Alexis Bledel shines.
Fresh: It's solid and affecting and exactly as thought-provoking as it should be.

It was ok...
The book was better than the movie. My class read the book about 3 months ago, and then we watched the movie. The book and movie take place in Treegap, not Winesap like it says in the iTunes summary. Also in the book, Winnie is almost 11, and in the movie, Winnie is 15. In the book, when Tuck, Miles, Jesse and Winnie try to get Mae out of jail, Winnie takes her place in the cell. I would reccomend reading the book first, then seeing the movie. :-)
Perfect....
When I saw iTunes had this movie available I immediately purchased it without hesitation. It reminds me of when I read the book back in my elementary school days (Boy have I come along way from there). Even though the movie strays from the book in some ways the writing and acting in this movie deserves five stars. At the end of the movie you to will find yourself wondering what would you do if you were in Winifred "Winnie" Foster's situation. Overall, it is a great movie that is worth every penny and some. As for me if I was in Winnie's position, I would have to do what she did, if you do not know what that was purchase the movie to find out.

ok, u people act lik this is the first movie ever to change a little bit of the story plot in the book. EVERY SINGLE movie remake of a book is altered in some way. for ex, charlie and the chocolate factory. the book was very different then the new movie. but it was still a great movie. u all act lik this movie stunk, but its awesome. if movie remakes of books were exactly lik the book, then the movie would be boring because u would know everything thats gunna happen. so thts y people change it a little. so dont start crying and freaking out if winnie is 15 and not 11. GET OVER IT. uve been pnwed =]
