Plot Summary
From the singular mind of writer/director and podcaster Kevin Smith, and conceived from one of Smith’s own Smodcast’s, Tusk is a story unlike anything that has ever been committed to screen before. A tale that is equal parts hilarious and horrifying, Tusk will stay with you long after the credits roll.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: You can imagine Mr. Smith and his collaborators rolling in the aisles at their own preposterousness. If you can find your inner 16-year-old, you might just join them.
Fresh: If you're a Kevin Smith junkie, as I am, you'll appreciate the verbal pinwheels he spins around the horror genre in Tusk.
Rotten: This tonal mishmash is a misfire of literally gross proportions.
Rotten: Tusk is an overextended, tonally incoherent joke that would make viewers squirm even if it didn't involve a bloody and demented medical experiment.

Amazing
Kevin Smith has outdone himself. I left the theater feeling gloomy but realized it was just a movie. Stay for the after credit for a extra scene from Guy .

It was ok. Not groundbreaking but a very smart way of combing comedy and thriller, which is almost impossible to do. That being said I thought movie was very promising but with a slightly higher budget available Kevin Smith would have hit a home run. This movie is in between a double and a triple. Definitely weird and creepy but not that scary of a horror genre more of a thriller. The comedy was well written and it delivers, unfortunately more than it should with "certain" scenes.
Stay Away!! A True Abomination
Tonight I saw something horrific. I wish I could unsee it. If only I had a time machine, forget all of the other mistakes I've ever made in my life that I regret; I would simply tell myself not to see this movie.
I thought District 9 was bad, but that's not the movie I am reviewing here. I walked out of John Carter. Next to this movie I am about to review, those movies look like Titanic. The movie I was so unfortunate to see tonight was Tusk. Tusk, starring Justin Long. I cannot put into words how abominable this was. It was so disturbing that I walked out in the middle, and I don't want to know how it ended. All I could wonder was, "who the hell thought that up?" Whoever wrote that has some serious issues. Seriously. Whoever likes this movie, I do not want to know.
Justin Long plays a guy who likes to make fun of people on podcasts. He goes up to Canada to see some kid who accidentally chopped off his leg. When he arrives, he finds out the kid committed suicide. At a bar, he goes to the bathroom (we get to see it and listen to the urine dropping in the urinal). He reads this letter posted by a guy who says he's had many adventures. Intrigued, Long calls the guy up and goes to his house, where he is drugged, and literally turned into a human walrus. How does it end? Don't know--I couldn't stomach it and I walked out.
Don't ask. There's little I can do for myself at this point; I cannot unsee the horror I saw, and I love horror movies. But I can warn you. Do NOT see this movie. Forget the money. I don't even care about the cost of watching a movie in the theaters. The people who made this are sick, indeed. If you know what's good for you, you'll skip this abomination. Justin Long, Kevin Smith, what the hell were you thinking?
One thing is true—Tusk will stay with you long after the movie is over, but you won’t want it to, trust me.
