A defining day in our history. It's an event that shook the world. A movie that truly honors the heroism of a dark day

When this movie first came out, there was the original skepticism of it still being too soon for a movie about 9/11 and the tragedies America faced this day. It happened with Oliver Stone's World Trade Center also. But then the movie was released . . . and embraced. The movie, with an ending that everyone knew was doomed, honors the action simple people took on this plane to prevent the deaths of thousands more americans. it avoids the politics and the whole black and white spectrum of government and focuses on the courage of these people. paul greengrass, the director, is most famous for directing the sequels to the bourne series(supremacy and ultimatum). this film is his masterpiece. everything is flawless from writing to cinematography to acting to effects. it doesn't exaggerate the inspiring story or shoot for oscar nominations. it tells a story that NEEDS to be told and remembered. the cast does an excellent job not overacting or being overdramatic and have the chemistry to inspire people as strangers fight a common foe. the violence is not gorey but more realistic if anything and only occurs when necessary. i most definately recommend this movie to anyone old enough to appreciate this and understand what the story tells. it is a dedication to those who died on 9/11 and the heores who helped save lives on that day by sacrificing theirs. a beautiful movie that should not be skipped. buy it and remember

A MUST SEE FILM, KNOW THE TRUTH, REMEMBER OUR HEROES

Not "tasteless schlock" as previous reviewer wcwrye reports. What this previous reviewer fails to understand is that this movie was made to educate America on this significant event and pay homage to the heroes of Flight 93. And it was made with painstaking care. Every detail of this event was researched thoroughly and duplicated for film with the greatest accuracy possible--right down to the exact garments the passengers wore, right down to their very last words. This film was meant to accurately chronicle the event to the best of the filmmaker's knowledge based on fact. The making of this film was not for "blood money." It was made for those who care to know the facts about the terrorist attacks against Americans that day and want to remember our heroes with the deference they deserve. After all, those who fail to remember history are doomed to repeat it.

:(

A dark day for the United States. Horrible tragedy strikes. Thousands die. And yet, somewhere far away from the chaos and destruction, a few people gain the courage to do something that few others could. They did not wait for some hero to emerge like so many action movies. They stood up themselves, and rebelled against evil, and tried to survive. Though none of them did, their sacrifice is remembered a decade later as the people who stood up to the terrorists, the people who tried to defeat their captors, those who fought back. Seeing the smoldering wreckage of this plane, the mangled bodies of the brave, the looks on the faces of the next of kin, seeing these things make me truly sure of a fact I might have forgotten about.

There are still good people in the world, and they will stay good, until the end.

That is why I say to you, hersheyslim, wcwyre, that you are little better than the savages that got these people killed. You spit upon their memories with your hateful comments. You are sad and pathetic, and I hope that you stay in that basement you're in like you belong.

Thank you, brave passengers and crew of Flight 93. We salute you.
