Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: This bloody wallow in sweat, guns and fisticuffs - for those who swing that way - delivers. – Andy Webster, New York Times, Nov 29, 2012

Rotten: So gruelingly violent you half wonder if director John Hyams' goal is to make the audience get up and leave the theater rather than be party to the brutality. – Clark Collis, Entertainment Weekly, Nov 28, 2012

Rotten: Universal soldiers, it seems, never die, even if they deserve a slow and deliberate farewell. – Scott Bowles, USA Today, Nov 29, 2012

Fresh: The grand finale is a series of what appear to be single-take sequences of bone-breaking, bullet-blasting violence, almost all of it presented with a practical-effects, minimal-CGI approach bound to impress genre devotees. – Joe Leydon, Variety, Nov 26, 2012

Good but nothing like the previous.

Consider this as a stand alone film. Probably the biggest disappointment is that the film has no connection to the previous entries what so ever. Just the name of the characters and thats it. If you can get past that then you'll probably enjoy the film for what it is. The movie is very dark, almost borderline horror flick. Lots a great brutal action scenes. Van Damme and Lundgren once again takes the backseat on this one. But Adkins does a great job holding his own. Don't go in expecting this to be heroic. Production value is surprisingly good. Not quick editing or cheap effects. Everything looks legit. Still worth a watch if you're a die hard fan.

Garbage

Please note that Van Damme and Dolph Lungren only make a few very small cameo appearances in this movie --- total screen time for them is less than 7 minutes -- For me to write an in depth analysis would require more effort than was put into this script --- this movie isn't worth a .99 cent rental

Boring!

What a waste of my time watching this moving. I skipped through it trying to find some good parts, but I didn't discover anything worth viewing. It's slow, disconnected, predictable, lame, and, stupid. It has a terrible plot, inadequate scripting, and, very stiff acting. The movie should be price at $0.99 to compensate for poor performance. Don't bother seeing this movie unlees you're in the mood for being bored and let down. The trailer is the only good part of the movie; however, it is very misleading and promises something that will not be delivered.
